I love to work with small businesses as well as arts and civic organizations to develop messaging that builds business and fosters community. I also coach individuals on writing and public speaking and teach courses on writing and language.

In my life as a journalist, I have written and edited for various newspapers and websites across the country. I have produced and directed daily news programs for Sirius satellite radio and environmental news shorts for the CBS Radio Network.

As culture editor of Wired News, I appeared regularly on KVIE-TV's California Capitol Week and co-hosted Wired News Audio Spin, which I also created and produced. I have spoken at conferences around the world, including the International Forum of Cultures and South by Southwest.

One of my most rewarding experiences has been teaching creative writing to women who are rebuilding their lives after incarceration and life on the streets.

I also write fiction.
